Building list is about having their contact information such as name and email address so that you can promote your products or services to your list on a regular basis. Of course, you also want to be polite of those people who have signed up for your list and not spoiling your credibility by selling to them every day.
The key to your online business success is all about getting the right people on your list in the first place. Most marketers are free which is less important than someone who are looking for information or ways to build their own internet business empire.

Some marketers believe that by contributing something for free that is of great value you will draw more people to sign up for your list. While this may be true, you also need to consider what kind of people these would be. If too many free subscribers then it won’t help you much.

You see, since they are looking for something for free, you need to understand their actual needs whether they are just freebie seekers and not real customers. Mostly, freebie seekers are kind of people that will waste your time. Depending on the niche you are in, this could bring you some problems.
Hey, there’s way to overcome this type of people. The other alternative that really works well (which I’ve tested) for some marketers is creating a short report or eBook that they could sell for a very minimal cost. This break ups the freebie seekers from the real buyers who are seriously searching for an answer to their concern or problem.
Through this small purchase, these buyers are indirectly lifting their hands and saying they want information. This gives the marketer a chance to sell them other, more in depth information later.
Let’s take a look at an example. Let’s assume you have a blog or a website about how to deal with depression in 1 day. Instead of offering all of your information on your website, you have two options.
One: You can write a free report that people can get when they sign up to your website. Two: you could charge $1, $3, $5 or $7, for example, to get this detailed report.
Through that, you will find out that the subscribers that signup in your list previously are freebie seekers or the one that really interested in material about that topic that they are willing to pay for it. Now you have a list of genuine BUYERS instead of just interested people who like free information.
Internet business can never succeed without list building. It is one of the most important parts of an internet marketer’s business. Yes, it takes time to build your list and it really takes serious efforts to market your niche. But once you find out which niche will work best for that particular market, you’re on the way to make your own wealth. Although a free report may be the very best thing to use in one niche, it might not work at all in another niche.
