Over the past couple of years lots of our followers has requested for soft frog lures. Soft frog is a must have lure for this region since we are flooded with snakehead fishing spots. It is one of the most universal of freshwater fishing lures.
And we decided to custom our soft frog since snakehead is the most hunted fish in this region.
THE INSPIRATION
It is important to be inspired and we believed in every creation of our baits the lookalike of living things will make it just perfect to hunt predators. It is not only on the look, but the action should mimic the real frog; at least.
For that, we are encouraged to work on providing a unique, original and one of its kind when it comes to fishing products.
The entire development of our soft frogs is really focusing on expressing the reality of the living frog. The tone, the patterns, the feel on the soft frog skins (surface) grumble is really mimicking the actual frog.
INTRODUCING
We named it “Ong Besau” for 40mm and “Ong Kecik” for 25mm soft frog lures. Ong Besau and Ong Kecik is laughable double meaning names we come out with.
“Ong” in our multiracial culture goes with lots of meaning and for us it’s just meant “Luck” and “Besau” means big, while “Kecik” means small. So, when we combine it becomes “Big Luck” or “Small Luck”. So, we are creating a fun way to go fishing and hoping them to wish for big luck, big fish and so on.
The soft frog lures are made from a high-quality soft rubber material that gives it a natural and live alike texture of its body. There are quite several colors and patterns choices plus the detail finishing is impressive.

The soft frogs are handmade, so it is impossible to get perfect weights and perfect body alignments. All colors and patterns are 100% different from each other. This what makes it our soft frog even better than most.

THE DIFFERENCE
FIRST GENERATION SOFT FROG
The Ong Besau soft frog can be fished on the surface like most frog bait and when retrieved, its legs do a sexy pedaling action. It can also be fished as a sinking lure since we have added the spinner blade which will make the soft frog slow sinking.
The 2 legs are where the main attraction come if you are hunting for monsters. The vibration created by the pedaling legs, will also create long bubbles that adds additional signals to predators to identify whereabouts the baits are. Now, you can pull out the legs if your fishing area fish is getting spooked easily. The holes you can leave it as it is if you prefer to make it sinks or just put something to stop water goes in to use it as top water.
SECOND GENERATION SOFT FROG -NEW
The second-generation Ong-Ong Besau is better than the previous version. We modified few features based on the feedback given by our customers. We changed the weight to 6g (plus minus), we removed the legs to improve the castability experience and we modified the shape. The new ergonomic body shape gives greater casting distance and better accuracy.
As for the second generation Ong-Ong Kecik we tweak the shape slightly to improve the casting distance and play with different range of eyes color to create different mood.
Both Ong-Ong Besau and Ong-Ong Kecik come with two latest color version. For Black Mamba we added scramble surface and we add up Poison Dart as a new color replacing previous version Flame Orange.
The centralize weights allows the lure to be cast a long distance. Beside swimming the lure on the surface and sub-surface, let the lure to sink to the bottom and bounce or twitch it like how you fish a soft plastic worm. This works well among snags and even out in the open.
The Ong Kecik soft frog is having almost the similar features except it doesn’t have legs. This small size is best use for small sizes fish of snakeheads and fishing spots that you need to create small movements. This will work wonder. It’s not always big lures attracts big fish. Sometimes or most of the times you need to match the hatch to attract monsters.
The surface crumble texture and segments on the body enables the soft frog to produce additional vibrations while retrieving / reeling in. It enables the soft frogs to look alive, hence attracting and triggering the natural predatory to make an attack.
TARGET
If you are a natural angler, you will basically get the idea where and what kind of fish you can target using soft frogs. The main targets are all kind of snakeheads from Haruan (Common Snakehead), Bujuk (Forest Snakehead), Kerandang (Emperor Snakehead), Haruan Palas (Black Snakehead), Kedak (Dwarf Snakehead) and even Toman (Giant Snakehead).
Now, it’s not only limited to snakeheads. You can go and try almost all kind of fish species that attack top water lures.
